01 THE SOLUTION

The solution for event roadmap creation

An event roadmap is a critical piece of event planning. It keeps traffic flowing, separates pedestrians from vehicles, and gives the council a single document to sign off. With Traffic Chart you create the mandatory event roadmap in minutes, not hours, and you reuse the result for every next edition of the event.

The drawing canvas is built for the job: scaled site map, smart zones with automatic area calculation, walking and emergency routes, the full road-sign library. One file holds every layer your permit needs. Export to PDF when the council asks for a hard copy; share the live link when the safety officer wants to comment.

02 USER-FRIENDLY

User-friendly event roadmap software

The event roadmap software is built to be intuitive and powerful at the same time. Whether you manage a large festival or you are setting up a local community gathering for the first time, the platform is quick to learn and fast to use in production.

With over 600 built-in tools and traffic elements you draw road closures, detour routes, signage placement, parking zones and emergency access points in minutes. No CAD background needed. The drag-and-drop interface, smart templates and real-time preview make it easy to build, edit and share your event roadmap with stakeholders, team members and local authorities.

From small pop-up events to city-wide festivals, Traffic Chart gives you full control over the traffic and mobility side of the event, on a single platform.

Who builds event roadmaps in Traffic Chart?

Event organisers, infrastructure contractors and municipalities all draw their event roadmap in the same workspace.

03 YOUR PARTNER

Your event roadmap partner

Effective traffic management is a critical part of any successful event roadmap, especially when crowd control sits alongside vehicle access at events and small-scale festivals. When mobility planning fails, crowd safety is compromised, and the reverse is just as true.

With software built for the job, drawing a clear and compliant event roadmap (including traffic flow, access routes and safety zones) becomes fast and predictable. Even if a traffic plan is mandatory in your region, it does not have to be complicated. Use the toolbox of road signs, drop in the safety zones, draw the detour, and the permit document writes itself.

04 VERSATILE

Versatile event roadmap software for all

Traffic Chart's event roadmap software is not only for event planners. It is equally at home with contractors handling permit work for a road closure, infrastructure teams scheduling temporary traffic measures, and local authorities reviewing the plans residents submit.

With one easy-to-use interface, anyone on the team draws a comprehensive event roadmap in minutes. The same drawing is the safety document, the council submission, and the on-site reference for the traffic controllers on the day.

Frequently asked questions about event roadmaps

Everything event organisers and permit-side reviewers ask before they trust the tool with their first roadmap.

What is an event roadmap?
An event roadmap is the mandatory traffic plan you submit alongside the event permit. It shows scaled site layout, traffic flow on the access roads, detour routes, signage placement, parking zones and emergency access. Most councils require it for any event with a public-road impact and many require it for events above a visitor threshold.
How long does it take to draw an event roadmap in Traffic Chart?
Roughly 20 minutes for a small event, 1 to 2 hours for a multi-zone festival site. The first plan takes longer while you get familiar with the tools; from the second plan onwards you reuse zones, signage groups and detour templates from the previous edition.
Do I need CAD experience to use the event roadmap module?
No. The platform is drag-and-drop with smart snapping, automatic area calculation and pre-built templates. Most of our event organisers have no CAD background. If you can use a slide editor, you can draw a Traffic Chart event roadmap.
Is the export accepted by Dutch and German municipalities?
Yes. The PDF export is council-ready and is already accepted by 50+ municipalities across the Netherlands and Germany. The drawing carries scale, legend, signage list and an automatic key, which covers the formal requirements in both countries.
Can I collaborate with my team on the same event roadmap?
Yes. Plans live in the cloud and can be shared across the team with view-only or edit access. The safety officer, the traffic controller and the event manager all work on the same source file, which removes the round-trip emailing of PDFs.
Can I reuse a previous event roadmap as a template?
Yes. Duplicate any past plan and the new draft inherits all zones, signage placement, routes and the sign list. The yearly returning event becomes a 10-minute job instead of a full half-day rebuild.
Is the first event roadmap free?
Yes. Your first traffic plan is 100% free and basic event maps are free forever. No credit card needed to start, and there is no time-limited trial; the free tier just keeps working.
Which signage library is included?
The full set of European road signs (RVV / StVO catalogues), construction signage and event-specific elements such as fencing, traffic controllers, parking icons and crowd-flow markers. Over 600 built-in elements in total, all drag-and-drop.
Does the event roadmap include emergency vehicle routes?
Yes. Draw a dedicated emergency route layer, with width and turn-radius indicators, and the route is automatically validated against your detour to flag conflicts. The fire brigade reviewer can read it without translation.
What happens after I submit the plan to the council?
The council reviews the PDF on their side, often signs it off without changes, and you receive the permit. If they request edits, you adjust the live plan in Traffic Chart, re-export, and resubmit. Most councils approve revisions within a few days.
